The Interdependence of the Theatre Policy and the Theatre Management

The theatre policy represents the state strategy towards theatres, while the theatre management is concerned with its realisation. The state, using different instruments, laws, finances and personnel planning designs functioning of the theatre. It actually defines the theatre on a wider, socio-political plan. On the other hand, the management is a skill for organizing and applying a certain model of the theatre policy.

The theater policy and the management don’t exclude each other, they are interdependent parts of the theatre functioning in general.
